In our second installment of “Alignment” we discussed how the building of the wall around Jerusalem served as a witness to all Israel’s enemies that God was with them. They praised God, they read from God’s Word, the split up the duties and God came through like He always does. We also looked at how when the people of God unite around the essentials and give freedom on the non-essentials, God blesses this unity with His presence and power. At the end of the building project, the people dedicated the walls by first dedicating themselves to God. We must do the same if God is going to build our church!
The Lord is My Shepherd
What does it mean for the Lord to be our Shepherd? According to David in Psalm 23, it means that we shall never be in want of anything. We will be made to slow down, quiet down, and sit down. Our souls will be restored and whole, like they were designed to be from the beginning. We shall not fear evil or death – no matter what we’re facing. Many of us know the Psalm… Let’s make sure we know the Shepherd.
