The prophecy of Micah includes one of the most unique sub-genres of Scripture: “The Divine Covenant Lawsuit.” In words that mirror a courtroom drama, God makes His case against the people of Israel. They defend themselves with sarcasm and question, “So what do you really want from us?” God’s response is powerful, “Act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with God.” Today was the first message in our 3-part series based on Micah 6:8. We looked at the various definitions of justice and how we can use the resources God has provided to put justice into action.
The Lord is My Shepherd
What does it mean for the Lord to be our Shepherd? According to David in Psalm 23, it means that we shall never be in want of anything. We will be made to slow down, quiet down, and sit down. Our souls will be restored and whole, like they were designed to be from the beginning. We shall not fear evil or death – no matter what we’re facing. Many of us know the Psalm… Let’s make sure we know the Shepherd.
