Remember Our Blessings

“Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of heavenly lights…” James 1:17

It’s always important for us to remember our blessings… and even more at the end of yet another crazy year. I’m thankful for God’s amazing provision, wisdom, power, and love. He has not failed to take care of His children, His church, His people. I am thankful for our congregation’s resilience, faithfulness, and compassion. In the midst of so much uncertainty, you have been steadfast. I am thankful for Christmas and the joy the season brings. People seem to smile a little wider, laugh a little louder, and do a little more good for one another than during other times of the year. As we venture into another Christmas season together, may our Father’s “good and perfect gifts” be more apparent and beautiful than ever. And may we be eager and ready to share them with those who need to see glimpses of Jesus in us.

The Lord is My Shepherd

What does it mean for the Lord to be our Shepherd? According to David in Psalm 23, it means that we shall never be in want of anything. We will be made to slow down, quiet down, and sit down. Our souls will be restored and whole, like they were designed to be from the beginning. We shall not fear evil or death – no matter what we’re facing. Many of us know the Psalm… Let’s make sure we know the Shepherd.

What is Church? Part 3: Fellowship

The Christian life is meant to be full of fellowship… of sharing with and sharpening one another. The first-century church knew that and practiced it every day. If we do what they did, would God do what He did among us?
