The most difficult part of the Lord’s Prayer is when we ask God to forgive us as we forgive others. Why is this so tough? Because admitting our sin before a holy and benevolent king doesn’t feel good.

"Give us today our daily bread." Every good and perfect gift, seen and unseen, is evidence of God's love and mercy. Therefore we ask for the gift of God's provision day-by-day as an act of faith and trust that He is our ultimate Source. When tempted to put our faith in other things or other people, the prayer Jesus taught his followers reminds us of the One who supplies our every need according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus.

When we pray “Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done,” we are yielding control to God the Father. We are acknowledging that God can do immeasurably more with our lives than we can… that we can fully trust in the Lord.

The Lord’s Prayer is the most well-known prayer in the world. Millions, perhaps billions of people know the words to this amazing prayer that Jesus gave to the disciples, but how many know what it really means?
